First, you find out what you're supposed to be drawing in the first place.
You know that the area will be 35 units2, so find out what pairs of numbers (to be the length and the height) equals 35.
35 and 1, 5 and 7.
Test out the numbers for the perimeter of a rectangle. (P = 2L + 2W)
P = 70 + 2 = 72 NO
P = 10 + 14 = 24 YES!
So you now know that you have a rectangle with the dimensions 5 x 7. To draw it, draw a line with 5 units labeled. From that, at a 90 degree angle to it, draw another line with 7 units labeled. Connect the lines to make a rectangle.
