If you want to figure out how many gallons you will need and you know how many miles per gallon you achieve then 60 / (your miles per gallon) = how many gallons you need.

If you want to know how much you used in 60 miles, one method would be to fill up the tank completely before the trip and then again after the trip and how much you put in the second time will tell you how much you used.
