To find out the percent of a number if you know another percent you do. . .
the method of Cross-Mutltiplying and Dividing, for example let's say I got 23/25 on a math test and I want to know my percentage so X/100,
your equation should look something like 23/25 = x/100.
now that you got your equation let's do the math.
Do 23 x 100 (23 multiplied by 100) then you get an answer of 2300.
You would then divide 2300 by 25 and get your answer of 92%.
That's basically why this method is called cross multiplying and dividing.
a as a percentage of b = 100a/b
To find a percent of a number, follow this rule. Suppose you have a number X, and you want to know what is P percent of X. Then P percent of X is (P/100) * X So in this case, you want to find (49/100) * 8, which is 3.92. For another example, what is 75 percent of 8? Then you have (75/100) * 8, which is 6. What is 100% of 8? It is (100/100) * 8, which is 8.
Multiply by 25 If the % is 4% and you know the number 4% is. We know 4 goes into 100 25 times. 100 divided by 4 = 25
If 0.8 = 12% then 0.8 divided by 12 will give you 1%, which is 0.0666 recurring. If you then multiply this number by 100 you can find 100%, which is the number you wished to know, this is 6.666 recurring.
The first number in a subtraction. The number from which another number (the Subtrahend) is to be subtracted. Example: in 8 − 3 = 5, 8 is the minuend.
a as a percentage of b = 100a/b
Factors come in pairs. If you know one factor, divide it into the number. The answer will be another factor.

You're supposed to know by now that 65% means 0.65 . Just multiply that by your number.
To get the percent of a number you must multiply the percent you are finding by the number you are finding the percent of. For example: We must find 30% of 12, 450. You must multiply 30% to 12, 450. 12, 450 * 30% (or 0.30) = 3735 It's easy if you know what I mean.
We know that 70 percent is 70/100 or .7, and we know that 15 percent is 15/100 or .15. Now we know that to find 15 % of 70 %, we multiply .7 times .15 and we get .105 for an answer.
Multiply by 25 If the % is 4% and you know the number 4% is. We know 4 goes into 100 25 times. 100 divided by 4 = 25
You would need to know the number of questions on the test, and then multiply that number by 0.08 to find the number of essay questions.

You normally multiply a number by another number
The importance of a percent is that the percent means out of 100 and if you needed to find out a specific number you can use a percent to show how much or how many you need or have lost. The importance of a percent is because it helps people's jobs and it helps our world and our every day life uses percentages and we don't even know it.
