The assessment of metallic alloy microstructure is not conducted by the application of volume fractions. Volume fractions, though applied to mixtures, are not appropriate in evaluating metallic crystal structures, even though there may be significant size differentials between the atoms of the metals in the alloy. Then following straight down the phase diagram you will see the different phases the steel achieves. With TTT curve, however, time is another variable to consider. The steel can be austenitized and rapidly quenched to a certain temperature and held at that temperature yielding a certain microstructure due to the phase it is held at. Long story short, TTT curve most likely applies to alloys, particularly steel, whose time dependence shape the microstructure. Most likely you won't find a TTT curve for a pure element because the microstructure will not be too affected by heat treatment.
