For the perimeter, you just go round the shape, adding the lengths of each side as you go along.

There may or may not be simple formulae of the area for a shape with unequal sides. If all you know is the [different] side lengths then only a triangle has a relatively simple formula for its area. If you also know that some of the sides are parallel, then you can find the area of a rectangle. Then, if you also know the perpendicular distance between the parallel sides, you can do a parallelogram. If, in addition you know which sides are parallel, a trapezium. And so on.

What is the formula of area and perimeter in 3 grade?

Area is the number of square unit needed to cover a surface. Perimeter of a figure is the distance around the figure Perimeter is measurements of each sides added.

What is the perimeter and area of a parrellelogram?

-- The perimeter is the sum of the lengths of the four sides. -- The area is the product of (length of the base) x (height of the figure).

What does it mean when it says compute both the perimeter and area?

Usually that means figure out the area and perimeter. Remember the perimeter is adding all sides like putting up and fence. And the area is x (multiplying) the 2 sides

What is the perimeter and area of a rectangle with the sides equal to 5 inches and 7 inches?

Perimeter:20 inches Area:35

What is the perimeter and area of a square with sides of equal length of 9.2 feet?

The perimeter is: (4 sides x 9.2 feet = 36.8 feet). The area is: 84.64 square feet.

What is the area of a square with a perimeter of 28?

Squares have 4 equal sides. So lets set x equal to one of the sides of the square. x = one side of the square The perimeter of a square is the distance around the outside. This is equal to the sum of the lengths of the sides. Because a square has 4 sides the perimeter is as follows 4x = perimeter Solving for x in this case gives you 7. The area of any rectangle is equal to the base * height. In a square this means side * side or side2. area = x2 Solving for the area in the case given we find that the area of a square with a perimeter of 28 is equal to 49 units2

Which rectangle has the greatest area for a fixed perimeter?

The greatest area for a fixed perimeter will be when all the sides are equal or when the rectangle approaches the shape of a square.

If a figure has a perimeter of 24 inches what is it's area?

Perimeter doesnt exactly matter.unless its a square.you take one sides lengthand multiply by another side.if sides are equal and parallel to anotherand there are only 4 sides.==================================What he's trying to say is:You can't tell. Perimeter doesn't tell you the area. There are an infinite number ofdifferent shapes with different dimensions and different areas that all have thesame perimeter of 24.

What is the difference between the area and the perimeter of a two-dimensional figure?

By multiplying length times width The area is found. Perimeter is the sum of sides The distance all around.

Perimeter of a square with area of 324?

72 because if the area is 324 and you make a block chart and count the sides it will equal 72
