There are two measurements needed: MASS and Volume
Use a mass balance to find the mass then find the volume by V=mass/density.
Density = (mass) divided by (volume)Mass = (Density) times (volume)
The formula that relates the three is:volume = mass x density
Density = mass / volume You can switch around the formula to look like: Mass = density * volume
Divide the mass by the volume.
You can't. In order to calculate a density, you need a mass and a volume.
To find volume from density and mass, divide the mass by the density. V = m/D
you weigh the water
Divide the mass by the density: volume = mass/density
Find its volume. Divide the mass by the volume to get the density.
Since density = mass / volume,volume = mass / density.
