You can't. The area doesn't tell you the dimensions. There are an infinite number
of rectangles that all have the same area but different dimensions.
Here's an example: The area of a rectangle is 60. What are the dimensions ?
There are an infinite number of possibilities, all with areas of 60.
Here are a few:
1 x 60
1.5 x 40
2 x 30
2.5 x 24
3 x 20
4 x 15
4.5 x (13 and 1/3)
5 x 12
6 x 10
7.5 x 8
7.746 square
You cannot find the area of a rectangle if you only know its length. You need to know its width too. Then you multiply its length by its width.
It not possible you nit witt that is not true length x width = area If you know length and area, solve width width = area / length then 2 x length + 2 x width = perimeter
If you only have square feet, you won't be able to find the height, unless you're mistaking height for length. Area in square feet of a quadrilateral is width times length. To find the length, divide the area by the width.
You cannot, to find an unknown, you need at least two knows facts. IE if the length and width give you area, you cannot get the area without BOTH the length and width.
Since the perimeter formula is Perimeter = 2(length) + 2(width) We only need to find the length, with the given information, to calculate the area. 322ft = 2(length) + 2(70ft) 322ft = 2(length) + 140ft 322ft - 140ft = 2(length) 182ft = 2(length) length = 91ft The area formula is Area = (length) x (width), So plugging in the length and the width, Area = 91ft x 70ft Area = 6370ft^2

you cannot do this; you have area only and two unknowns - lengthand width but only one equation: area = length x width

area is length times width

the width is always shorter than the length. other than that, you would require more information about the rectangle (such as the area or the diagonal measurement) to ascertain the width
This is impossible to do, since any length and width that satisfy the following equation: L*W=A Where L is length, W is width and A is area If only area is provided, then an infinate number of possible width and height values are possible.
We know that every side of a square in the same length, and that the area is equal to the width times the height. Because this is a square, the width and height are equal, so area is equal to the length of one of the sides times itself, or the length of one of the sides squared. So, in order to find the length of one of the sides, you take the square root of the area. The length of the side is equal to both the width and the height. For example, if you have a square with an area of 9, take the square root of 9, which is 3. So the width of that square is 3.
-- Slice it down one side and flatten it out. -- Now you have a rectangle. You only have to find the area of a rectangle. -- The area of a rectangle is (length) times (width). -- The length of the rectangle used to be the length of the cylinder. -- The width of the rectangle used to be the circumference of the cylinder's round ends, while it was still rolled up.
If you are multiplying length times width times height, that is three dimensions, and you will get a volume. Area is a two dimensional quantity. You would only need length times width to get area.
