Volume= Length x Width x Height= (y)^3

Surface area= Multiply the length by the width of one of the long faces. Multiply the answer by 2.

Then multiply the length by the width of the face either to the left or right of that one, it doesn't matter just so long as you don't use the face opposite the one you started with. Multiply that answer by 2.

Then multiply the length by the width of one of the end faces. Multiply that by 2.

Add all three numbers up and you have the surface are in (y)^2
