Need to remove the tailgate inner trim panel on hatch and estate car.The lamp is held on by two clips (estate)or two screws(hatch)the wiring needs a couple of ties undoing to remove the lamp.

If none of the brake lights are working i would suspect the brake switch at the brake pedal.

82bhp it depends entirely on the engine and year really. the C14NZ from mk3 astra's was only 60bhp
Are you sure the rotors are chrome. If they are chrome plated, the plating WILL wear off. They may be made of a Chrome Moly steel.....which is typical for rotors because of it's strength.

On the Astra G (1998-2003) it is under a cover in the center console under the emergency brake handle.
the brake lights are on a separate cuircut,if your brake lights are staying then it will be a fault with the brake light switch. the switch is located under dash,and will be on or very close to brake pedal.

Check the bulbs. If these are OK it could be the switch on the brake pedal arm.
