Simple.
Take this example: 13/5 x 10/26
Just times the tops together, and then multiply the bottoms together, then simplify. Then you have your answer.
OR use the faster and more accurate way of cross cancelling.
Remember the CROSS in cross cancelling because we multiply crossways.
5 can fit into 10 twice, so we cross out the 10 and we leave a 2. 5 can fit into 5 once, so we leave a 1 where the 5 used to be.
13/1 x 2/26
Now, 13 can fit into 26 twice, so we cross out the 26, and leave a 2, and we cross out the 13 and leave a 1.
1/1 x 2/2
2/2 = 1
1/1 = 1
1x1 = 1

multiply the denominator by the whole number then add the numerator and you have an improper fraction
turn fraction into a improper fraction
Convert the mixed number into an improper fraction then divide the fraction and improper fraction as normal (invert the divisor and multiply) and simplify the result (including converting any improper fraction into a mixed number)
To convert a mixed number to an improper fraction, multiply whole number part by the denominator of the fraction part, then add the numerator to the product. The result is the numerator of the improper fraction. The denominator remains the same. For example, to convert 2 3/8 to an improper fraction, multiply 2*8 = 16, then add 3 to get 19. The improper fraction is 19/8.
you have to multiply the top and bottom number by the same number
Convert it to an improper fraction.
1 1/2X2 =3
Any positive improper fraction.
To convert a proper fraction to an improper fraction you multiply the whole number by the denominator plus the nominator and put your answer in your nominator spot over your same denominator. EXAMPLE:7 and a half converted into a improper fraction would be 15 over 2.
You just take any denominator, (which is the second number in a fraction) and any whole number and multiply that denominator by the whole number to get an improper fraction, say you choose, the whole number 16 and the denominator 4, multiply 4 by 16 and get 64, your improper fraction will be 64/4.
You do not but you are more likely to make mistakes if you don't.
You make 3000 in to the improper fraction 3000/1 and then you multiply across. So you get 3000*2/1*3
