that is really slow. i ran my first mile half in 9:30
5.625 (= 55/8) miles per hour.
yes it is because I can run a mile in less than 9:10 and so can everyone else in my class which means 16 minutes is plenty of time.
A 10-minute time over a kilometer equates to a time of 16 minutes 5.6 seconds for 1.0 mile.
You walk
For your first half marathon, probably 10-13 minutes per mile, or if you are walking a little bit too, 13-16 minutes per mile. If you are a super amazing runner and/or have run a half-marathon before, then the sky's the limit.
3 minutes and 45 seconds
About 16 minutes and 51 seconds
The Preakness is run at 1 3/16 of a mile. it lasts about 2 minutes.
around 3 and a half hours.
The Kentucky Derby is run at 1 1/4 miles and is the 2nd longest of the Triple Crown races. The Preakness is the shortest and is run at 1 3/16 miles.
Is 24 minutes good for what? The 3 mile run in the Physcial Fitness Test? It is certainly in the acceptable range. The max time allowed is 28 minutes, the minimum to score a 'perfect' score is 16 minutes.
It depends. An average person might run it in anywhere from 30-45 minutes (10-15 min per mile). Someone who is athletic but not really a runner might do it in 27-36 minutes (9-12 min per mile). A cross country runner could run it as fast as 15-16 minutes, but most likely in 18-24 (someone new to cross country might do like 25-32). Personally, assuming you're just an average person, I think if you can run 3 miles in 33-36 minutes that's decent.
