Just add 4 to both sides, so:
x = 15.
or do it the proper way
x - 4 = 11
x - 4 + 4 = 11 + 4
x = 15
you still get the same answer but this way you can figure out harder algerbratic questions too!
3x-11 for x=9
x=4 x=4
x=4From superscot85: How you solve it is to subtract 4 from each side leaving x = 4
x=12
2x + 3 + 3x = x + 11 5x + 3 = x + 11 4x + 3 = 11 4x = 8 x = (8/4) x = 2
3x-11 for x=9
y=x+4
4+3x-27=-12 To solve it... 3x= -12-4+27 3x= 11 x= 11/3 x= 3.666
x=4 x=0
x=4 x=4
2x + 3 = x - 4 2x + 7 = x x + 7 = 0 x = -7 2(-7) + 3 = -11 (-7) - 4 + -11
x=4From superscot85: How you solve it is to subtract 4 from each side leaving x = 4
x=12
4
2x + 3 + 3x = x + 11 5x + 3 = x + 11 4x + 3 = 11 4x = 8 x = (8/4) x = 2
you want to solve for x, so you have to isolate x on one side by itself 7x-11=17 you have a -11, so you add 11 to both sides. you get 7x=28 than you have a 7 multiplied by x, you divide both sides by 7 you then have x= 28 divided by 7=4 x=4
x=4 y=x+3 y=4+3 y=7
