Since the acceleration is uniform you can add the starting and ending velocities and divide by two the average speed

145 + 73 = 218

218/2 = 109 (units not given so I assume Miles per Hour)

To convert to Feet per seconds

109 mph X 5280 feet in a mile / 3600 seconds in an hour = 159.866667 feet per second

multiply the above by 15 seconds and you get 2398 feet

What is the velocity of a plane traveling nothwest at 610 mph?

Velocity is the rate of speed in a given direction. Therefore, the plane's velocity is 610mph NW.

What is an acceleration of negative 20 meters per second squared?

A negative acceleration has the affect of decreasing the velocity of the moving object. If a plane is climbing at a speed of 100 meters per second and is subject to an acceleration of -20 meters per sec2 then after 1 second it's climbing speed will reduce to 80 mps, after 2 seconds to 60 mps .....and so on.This is illustrated by the law of motion v = u + ft, where u is the initial velocity, v is the final velocity, f is the acceleration and t is the time. How long does it take the plane to reach a zero climbing velocity.v = u + ft : 0 = 100 -20t : 20t = 100 : t = 5 seconds, which can be easily verified from the example a few lines above.

Why gravitational constant is constant while when acceleration due to gravity is change?

gravity of earth is constant in any plane but the acceleration may vary becoz of irregular plane

What is resultant velocity of the plane if a plane travels 100 km per hour to the north with a headwind of 25 km per hour towards the south?

The resultant velocity of a plane is 75 km/hr.

Does a bullet fired from a plane have more velocity than one fired on the ground?

Yes it does ! Even if both bullets are identical and fired from the same make of gun, the one in the plane will already have the velocity the plane is travelling at before it's fired.

How did changing the slope of the incline change your velocity and acceleration value?

changing the slope of the inclined plane changes the values for velocity because of the unbalanced external force exerted on the object increases the velocity.

How did changing the slope of the inclined plane change your velocity and acceleration values?

If no other external forces act (apart from weight), the acceleration on a fixed slope remains constant. This is because acceleration is given by: a=gsino where g is the acceleration of free fall and o is the angle between the slope and the horizontal.

What is the difference between velocity and acceleration?

Velocity of an object is the speed of the object and the direction of its motion. However, acceleration is the change in velocity divided by time it takes for the change to occur.Velocity is describing how an object in a 2+ dimensional plane is changing its position with 1 or 2 dimensional time.ANSWERAcceleration is describing how an object changes its velocity with time.Velocity is defined as Displacement of a body in a particular time.Velocity = Displacement/Time. Whereas Acceleration of a body is defined as change in Velocity of a body at a particular instant of Time.Acceleration = Final Velocity-Initial Velocity/TimeNow If Velocity is Uniform or Constant then Acceleration is ZeroThe same difference as between velocity and position.Velocity is the change of position per time unit.Acceleration is the change of velocity per time unit. If an object, for example, goes faster and faster (or slower and slower), then it is accelerating. The difference is that velocity refers to the speed of something while acceleration refers to the increase of that speed. For example you step on the accelerator to increase the velocity (speed) of your car.Acceleration means, how fast is the velocity changing. Velocity is speed with a direction.Velocity is the distance covered over time; acceleration is the variation in velocity over a period of time.

Determine the displacement of a plane that experiences uniform acceleration from 59 ms to 78 ms in 12 s?

use a uniform acceleration equation, Δx = ½ (Vi + Vf) Δt where displacement = 1/2 (initial velocity + final velocity) time displacement = 1/2 (59 m/s + 78 m/s) * 12s displacement = 822 m

What is the speed and acceleration of a ball rolling down a hill?

The acceleration of a tennis ball rolling down an incline depends with two factors. The force that is applied to the tennis ball and the mass of the tennis ball will determine its acceleration.

How far does a plane fly in 15 seconds while its velocity is increasing from 75 ms to 145 m s at a uniform rate of acceleration?

If it accelerates from 75 m/s to 145 m/s at a uniform rate, then its average speed duringthe acceleration is 0.5(145+75) = 110 m/s.Distance covered in 15 sec at average speed of 110 m/s = (15 x 110) = 1,650 m = 1.65 km.
