14' * 15' = 210 sq ft = 210*144 sq inches = 30240 sq inches

Each paver is 6" * 9" = 54 sq inches

So number of pavers required = 30240/54 = 560 pavers.

This works only because 6" goes into 14' and 9" goes into 15'. Otherwise you could have a lot of pavers needing to be trimmed.

How many 24 x 24 inch pavers would you need for a 10 long x 2 foot wide area?

There are 12 inches in a foot. Therefore the 24 inch pavers are 2 foot pavers each with an area of 2*2 = 4 square feet. The area to be paved measures 10*2 = 20 square feet. Therefore you will need 20/4 = 5 pavers.

How many 16 x 16 pavers would it take to cover 120 sq ft?

The area of a 16 inch x 16 inch paver is 16/9 square feet. Area to be covered = 120 sq ft So number of pavers required = 120 / (16/9) = 67.5 Thus, a minimum of 68 pavers are required. However, that assumes that the pavers fit the area well and that all the offcuts can be used - a very unlikely proposition in real life.

How many 12 inch x 12 inch pavers are needed to cover 8ft x 16ft patio area?

1ft=12 inch area of each paver =(12 inch)*(12 inch) =(1 ft)(1 ft) =1 sq.ft area of total to be covered=(8 ft)(16 ft) =128 sq.ft no of pavers = (128 )/(1)=128

How many 12x12 inch pavers needed for 72 sq ft?

12 inch * 12 inch = 1 ft * 1 ft = 1 sq ft. Therefore, a minimum of 72 pavers are needed. That answer assumes that the shape is well behaved and the pavers do not need to be cut. Or that, if they are, all the offcuts are used. Pavers may need to be cut/trimmed if, for example, the area is circular.
