You're already one step ahead, because you already know the area. If you know the area, just multiply by the depth to figure the volume. Trouble is, your units are inconsistent -- square feet and inches. One of 'em gotta go. Let's convert inches to feet: 2 inches = 2/12 feet = 1/6 feet. Now multiply 10,000 by 1/6 -- that's the same as dividing 10,000 by six -- and you get 1,667 cubic feet of soil. Soil is sold by the cubic yard, however, so divide by 27, because there are 27 cubic feet per cubic yard. That should give you 61.7 cubic yards. If a dump truck holds 12 cu. yd., you need five trucks. That's a lot of soil.
