If the 600mm roll of paper has no hollow core then:
the mean diameter = 300mm
the mean circumference = 300.Pi = 942.48mm = 0.94248m
the number of layers = 300 radius / 0.085 = 3529
3529 x 0.94248 = 3326 metres
If there is a core onto which the paper was wound, then the mean circumference will be larger (depending on the size of the core) but the number of layers will be fewer and there will be less paper in metres.
The micron is 1 x 10-6 meters, so 5 microns is 5 x 10-6 meters. This is also 0.005 millimeters, or 0.000197 inches.
the diameter of human hair varies from about 40 microns to 120 microns. a micron or micrometer is a millionth of a meter. Copy paper thickness is about 100 microns (or 0.1 millimeter).
0.22 micron filter paper is a type of filter paper that has a pore size of 0.22 microns. It is commonly used in laboratory settings for filtering out particles and microorganisms that are larger than 0.22 microns in size. This type of filter paper is effective for sterilizing solutions and removing bacteria and other contaminants.
Filter paper microns can be measured using a microscope with a calibrated scale. Place the filter paper under the microscope and measure the size of the pores or openings in the paper to determine the average micron size. You can also consult the manufacturer's specifications for the filter paper to obtain the micron measurement.
It depends. If the piece of paper is 1 micron wide and 10 kilometres long, it will have an area of 0.01 sq metres but I would not be able to write anything on paper that narrow. Or, worse, it could be 1 nanometre wide and 10,000 km long and still have an area of 0.01 sq metres!
You can't ! Microns are measurements of length - gsm is a unit of weight !
micron sentence examplesAfter all, even a cubic micron of water contains about thirty billion molecules. In 1844 antoine lecoultre was the first person to measure a micron. The minimum dimension of manufactured devices and ics has decreased from 20microns to the sub micron levels of today.Micron sieve using hot water.Microns on a side.An average bacterium would be about 1.0 micron by 0.5 micron or cover an area of 0.5 square microns.A new line of data is printed each time the paper moves 42.3 microns.Microns in maximum diameter.Microns of the materials are identified in a reflection mode scan. This new capability allows for measurement of sub-100 micron test pads in chips.Micron diameter droplets.Typical feature sizes for laser machining range from a few microns to many hundreds of microns.Microns in size.Micron laminate. However the beam thickness, which is of several microns, is difficult to measure with sufficient uncertainty.Microns in length.Micron wavelength. There is a need within the biological community, especially for drug targeting, for subcellular radioisotope imaging ( ~10 microns ).Micron thickness can be achieved.Micron mesh size
It looks to be similar, I was looking at Extreme Platinum (Xerox) paper that is listed as 102 Microns, - some suppliers list it as being 75 GSM and others 80 GSM.
A field, yard, or sheet of paper with that description has an area of precisely 1,500 square meters. If it's round, its diameter is 43.702 meters. (rounded) If it's square, each side is 38.730 meters long. (rounded) If it's rectangular, then its width, in meters, is (1500) divided by (its length). There are an infinite number of possibilities. There are also an infinite number of other shapes that it could have.
To convert microns to grams per square meter (GSM), you can use the general conversion factor where 1 micron is approximately equal to 1.48 GSM for paper. Therefore, 50 microns would be roughly 74 GSM (50 microns × 1.48 GSM/micron). Keep in mind that this is an approximation and actual GSM can vary depending on the material.
To wrap a piece of paper around a cylinder with a base diameter smaller than its top diameter and keep the paper flush against the cylinder, you can make a slit along one side of the paper from the edge to the center. Then, overlap the edges of the cut and tape or glue them to create a conical shape that matches the slant of the cylinder. This will allow you to wrap the paper smoothly around the cylinder.
