These are way easier then people make them... use picket fences and units of conversion:
So to do this procedure:
tfinal=? vo=40 mi/hr dfinal=365 ft
So take 40 and divide it by 60 min then divide again by 60 sec to get units into seconds. Then take this number and multiply by 5280 ft to get units in ft/sec. Now we now that 40 mi/hr = 58.66 ft/sec we can take our dfinal over 58.66 ft/sec to get a tfinal= 6.22 s.
If you you travel 3 miles, you would get 3 miles far.
134/257 x 3600 seconds = 1877 seconds = 31minutes 17 seconds
That is a simple ratio problem. To travel 103 miles going 75 mph, it would be 103 miles/75 miles/hour, which is 1.37333... * 60 minutes which is 82.4 minutes or 82 minutes and 24 seconds precisely.
About the length of a football field.
It will take approx 29 minutes and 32 seconds.
At 58 miles per hour it would take 17.63 seconds to travel 1,500 feet.
A jogger travels at a speed of 5 miles and seconds for a minute. How far would he or she travel in that time
3600 seconds.
Ten seconds.
Light travels approximately 186,282 miles per second. So, in 20 seconds, light would travel around 3,725,640 miles.
in about three miles
that would be 110 years and 6 days and 46 minutes and 52 seconds...
