Multiplication is basically adding the same number over and over and over, if you multiply a number by 5, you have half of when you multiply it by 10.

Say you multiply:

8x5=40,

40 is half of 80.

A number that is multiplied by 10 is the number you started out with, but with a zero on the end, because basically, you add the 0 from the 10. 8x100 is 800. 8x1000 is 8,000

If a number is multiplied 0 times. it is zero, but if you multiply it once, it is the original number you started out with, for instance:

7x0=0 but 7x1=7(before there was a 1 there, I fixed it, hopefully it didn't confuse you)because you aren't adding two of the number together

Multiplication is basically adding in strings, watch closely:

7+7+7+7+7+7=? well, think of this as spelled out multiplying. Count how many 7s there are. Since there are 6, you multiply by 6 and basically add six 7s together, then you have your answer.

7x6=42

Hope this answered you question!
