4 - 3/8 = 3 8/8 - 3/8 = 3 5/8
1 4/9 (I think I had to do this in my head & I usually work it out on paper.)
Not entirely sure, but wouldn't it be 1/8?
To work this out you need to amend the fraction to one that can be halved.Three quarters is the same as six eighths, now you can work out the answer.Three eighths is half of three quarters.
One quarter of three eighths is three thirty-seconds. So, basically, you're taking a slice of a slice and ending up with a teeny-tiny piece. It's like trying to split a crumb into even smaller crumbs - not much to work with!
It's the greatest length you could cover if somebody cut up one inch into eight equal pieces and gave you three of them to work with.
It will help a lot if you know how to write "four tenths" in numbers.Four tenths = 0.47.3 minus 0.4 = 6.9
Three out of four
To add three eighths and seven twelfths, first find a common denominator. The least common multiple of 8 and 12 is 24. Convert both fractions: three eighths becomes nine twenty-fourths (3/8 = 9/24) and seven twelfths becomes fourteen twenty-fourths (7/12 = 14/24). Now, add the two fractions: 9/24 + 14/24 = 23/24.
If you mean: 4 times 80/5 and 7 times 80/8 then no because they work out as 64 and 70 respectively
-3 + ? = 5 add 3 to both sides ? = 8
That is impossible, it doesn't work. the answer in the textbook or whatever must be wrong. It is 5
1 = 4/4 - 3/4 = 1/4
