Assuming that your units of velocity are in units/second

Acceleration = (velocity 2 - velocity 1) / time

Acceleration = (4.9 - 0) / 3

Acceleration =1.63

*With correct significant figures the answer is 2

WHEN A BALL IS DRoPPED FROM A height its speed increases why?

Acceleration due to the force of gravity.

A rock dropped on the moon will increase its speed from 0 ms its starting speed when first dropped to 4.9 ms in about 3 seconds What value do you calculate for the magnitude of the acceleration o?

1.63 m/s2

What is the definition of deceleration acceleration?

Acceleration is when speed increases. Deceleration is when speed decreases.

Does two stones have the same acceleration if one is thrown upward from a roof and the identical one is dropped from there?

no because the higher it gets the speed increases and its do not does.

A rock dropped on the moon will increase its speed from 0 its starting speed to 8.15 in about 5 seconds If you were standing on the moon measuring the rock's motion what would you measure?

That works out at an acceleration of 1.63 m/s2(Presumably you meant 8.15 meters per second.)You would measure how far the rock dropped in 5 seconds. Then you could work out the final speed (or acceleration) from the "equations of motion".

Why speed increases if its acceleration decreases?

stamina

What is the acceleration if the velocity increases by eighty meters per second in twenty seconds?

Average acceleration = (change in speed) divided by (time for the change)= (80) / (20) = 4 meters per second2

What is a car's acceleration if it increases its speed from 5 miles per second to 20 miles per second in 3 seconds?

5 m/s2

What happens to an object when it undergoes acceleration is it the speed or velocity that increases?

It is the velocity that increases.

What would be the change in velocity for a 10 gram object dropped from the roof of a 20 meter building if it takes 2 seconds to reach the ground Hint acceleration due to gravity is 98 ms²?

In two seconds of fall, the speed increases 19.6 meters (64.4 feet) per second. The magnitude of velocity increases by that amount, while the direction of velocity doesn't change.

What determines your acceleration?

The rate that your speed increases or decreases.

What is the amount by which the speed increases in one second?

It is the acceleration.
