Let's say Bill = b and Tom= t

We can make an equation like this from the question.

2b = 10 + t

t= b +15

Since t = b+ 15 you can substitute that into the first equation making it

2b= 10 + (b + 15)

2b= 25+ b

b= 25

So now we know bill is 25 inches tall

now subsitute that into the sencond equation

t=(25) + 15 = 40

Now we know that Tom is 40 inches tall

Bill= 25 inches Tom= 40 inches
