An angle cannot have an area.

It is possible, however, that the question is about a right angled triangle.

Suppose the lengths of the two legs are x cm and y cm

by Pythagoras, x2 + y2 = 52 = 25

and perimeter = 12 => x + y + 5 = 12 => x + y = 7

So (x + y)2 = 49

ie x2 + 2xy + y2 = 49

But x2 + y2 = 25

so 2xy = 49 - 25 = 24

So area of triangle = 0.5*xy = 24/4 = 6 sq cm
