You almost scared me with this one, but I'll give it a go. Easy ones first:

(1) 3 quarters

(2) 7 dimes; 1 nickel

(3) 15 nickels

Then it gets tricky:

(4) 2 quarters, 5 nickels

(5) 2, quarters, 2 dimes, 1 nickel

(6) 1 more time to convert 1 dime into 2 nickels

(7) 1 quarter, 10 nickels

(8) 1 quarter, 5 dimes

(9-12) 4 more times to convert each dime, but 1, into 2 nickels

(13-18) 6 more times to convert each dime, but 1, into 2 nickels.

Did I miss any? 18 different ways (thank goodness you didn't include pennies!)

How many nickels are equal in value to 20 quarters?

A nickel is 5 cents and a quarter is 25 cents so there are five times as many nickels as quarters in any amount. That means 20 quarters is the same as 20*5 = 100 nickels.

What is ratio to nickels to quarters in a dollar?

A dollar is 100 cents, a quarter is 25 cents, and a nickel is 5 cents. Thus a dollar is composed of 4 (100/25) quarters, or 20 (100/5) nickels. Therefore there are 5 times as many nickels in a dollar as there are quarters. Another way to look at it is to say that there are 5 nickels in a quarter, so there are 5 times as many nickels as quarters in any amount.

How can you have 2 dollars in nickels dimes and quarters with the same amount of each coin?

Since 8 quarters equals $2, you must have fewer than 8 quarters. You can start with a guess and then refine it. If you have 5 quarters, that is $1.25. Then, 5 dimes is $0.50 and 5 nickels is $0.25. The total of $1.25 + 0.50 + 0.25 = 2.00.

Robert found 24 coins 13 of them were pennies 14 of them were nickels 16 of them were dimes and the rest were quarters how many pennies dimes nickels and quarters did Robert find?

The question suggests that there are 24 coins. 13 of them are pennies, 14 are nickels, and 16 are dimes and the rest are quarters. To answer this question, One would add the number of pennies, nickels, and dimes and subtract the sum of those coins from 24. The difference of the two numbers would be the amount of quarters. However, 13+14+16=43. 24-43= -19 There can't be -19 quarters.
