It is composite because it can be divided by 1, 3, and etc.

It's composite

Just divide by several prime numbers - by 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, etc., up to the square root of the number - in this case less than 30, since 30 squared is 900. If you find a factor, the number is composite. You know that a number is a factor if, upon division with a calculator, you get a whole number; or, if you divide on paper, you get no remainder.
