No it is not. Scientists agree that reports of a past life are the products of imagination and what is known about a given time period. Subjects who undergo hypnosis and report a past life are rarely accurate in terms of historical circumstances that occured in their past life. If you read the article "Secondary Identity Enactments During Hypnotic Past-Life Regression" published in the journal of personality and social psychology vol. 61 no. 2 you will find information about scientific experiments done to see if past-life regression is possible. It is not. Example: One participant regressed to ancient times and claimed to be Julius Caesar emperor of Rome in 50 B.C . even though Julius Caesar died decades before the first emperor of Rome came into power. Past life memories are the product of people's beliefs and expectancies.

I do not agree with the previous answer. I believe that past lives are true. These are not things that can be proven scientifically. That is like insisting that science prove the existence of God. There have been many instances where people have spontaneously experienced past lives that they could not possibly have known about and the facts of their memories have been proven. I am a past life regression therapist and I have personally regressed many people who recount experiences in past lives that have come forward into this life. A small example is a regression in which the client experienced living on a horse ranch owned by her father and being in that situation until she died. In the current life, she loves horses and rides regularly at her local stable. Another client worked on a fishing vessel in the 1800's and today loves to fish as a relaxing pastime. And finally I did a regression on a 50 year old white male who experienced being a female slave in the plantation house in the US. After the regression, he related to me that he designs jewelry and one of his pieces is an ankle bracelet with a simulated broken chain to signify the freeing of the slaves. He also has always loved and collected African art. There are many stories along those lines. But this is a matter of what you believe. Spritual matters are not science and cannot be proven in most cases.
