if a square has edges abcd is it necessary to name it in alphabetical order
Names of 3D shapes 1 face: sphere 4 faces: tetrahedron/triangle based pyramid 5 faces: pentahedron/square based pyramid 6 faces: hexahedron (sexahedron)/cube/cuboid 7 faces: septahedron 8 faces: octahedron 9 faces: nonahedron 10 faces: decahedron 11 faces: undecahedron 12 faces: dodecahedron 13 faces: tridecahedron 14 faces: tetradecahedron 15 faces: pentadecahedron 16 faces: hexadecahedron (sexadecahedron) 17 faces: septadecahedron 18 faces: octadecahedron 19 faces: nonadecahedron 20 faces: icosahedron 21 faces: unicosahedron 22 faces: dicosahedron ... 29 faces: nonicosahedron 30 faces: tricontahedron 90 faces: ennacontahedron
The three pyramids that i know of is a :) Triangular based pyramid :) Square based pyramid :) Hexagonal based pyramid
They do not have names.
There are 4 triangular faces. They do not have names.
Yes!!! It is a TETRAHEDRON A pyramid has a square base and four triangular sides.
A tetrahedron or triangular pyramid.
4 faces: tetrahedron; a pyramid with a triangular base has 4 faces.5 faces: pentahedron; A triangular prism (the sort you make a rainbow with) is a pentahedron; a square pyramidis a pentahedron - it has a square base and 4 triangular sides.6 faces: hexahedron; a regular hexahedron, with all its faces square, is a cube. 7 faces: heptahedron 8 faces: octahedron9 faces: enneahedron10 faces: decahedron11 faces: hendecahedron 12 faces: dodecahedron
If restricted to plane faces, a rectangular pyramid or a triangular prism. With curved faces such shapes will usually not have names.
Cube: 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. Cuboid: 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. Sphere: 1 Face and no edges or vertices. Cylinder: 3 faces, 2 edges and no vertices. Cone: 2 faces, and 1 edge and vertices. Triangle Pyramid: 4 faces and vertices and 6 edges. Square Pyramid: 5 faces and vertices and 8 edges. Triangle Prism: 5 faces, 9 edges and 6 vertices. Examples, Cube: A box Cuboid: A keyboard Sphere: A ball Cylinder: Can of beans Cone: Ice-cream cone Triangle Pyramid: Bit of a tobarone bar Square Pyramid: Egyptian Pyramid Triangle Prism: Tobarone Bar

NO such thing as a triangular pyramid. A PYRAMID has a square base, upon which four triangles are mounted, to form a peak. A TETRAHEDRON has a triangular base and three triangular faces mounted on it.
It can be a heptagon (heptagonal pyramid), hexagon (hexagonal prism), square (square based bipyramid). There are versions with pentagonal or triangular bases but I cannot think of their names.
