To round it, you'll need the digit before 5, which is 1. If the digit before the chosen place value is 0-4, then the chosen value stays the same. If it's 5-9, then the chosen value gains a value. In this case, 1 is in 0-4, so that means 5 stays the same, but ALL the digits that are right of 5 becomes 0, so 1 turns into a 0, and the answer is 8,950.
