what is the weight of 300 MCM Copper wire
The diameter of an insulated 750 MCM copper wire is 1.25 inches. The insulated 750 MCM copper wiring has 61 strands and has a weight of 2.7 pounds per foot.
A 250 MCM copper conductor with an insulation factor of 75 or 90 degrees C is rated at 255 and 290 amps respectively
500mcm 37 strand copper wire = 1.544lbs/ft.
The bare conductor is about 1.05 lb per foot. Insulated wire weight varies by type of insulation.
With a 250 MCM copper conductor delivering 200 amps on a 240 volt system, a maximum distance of 278 feet will be allowed. This distance will hold the voltage drop to less than 3 percent.
600amps
If This Is For Say A House Or A Distrubition Center, I Would Use 000 Which Will Handle Around 240 Amps With No Problem. I`m Sure This Will Handle It. At Anyone Time You Would Or Should Never Have The Loadcenter Maxed Out ( If This Is For A Home ) And If You Fill You Might Or Are Only Running One Item On This Wiring At 250Amp, You Will Have To Install 0000 Cable. Hope This Helps

Using the AWG for wire sizes only goes up to 4/0. After that the increases use MCM to size the wire. So your 262 MCM wire size will be same in AWG. There is no 262 MCM in the North American market place. It goes in 50 MCM increments starting at 250 MCM , 300 MCM, 350 MCM, 400 MCM right up to 2000 MCM cable.
