I'm guessing you mean factor. A factor is one of the numbers multiplied together to get a number. For example, 6 is a factor of 24 because 6 x 4=24. Prime factors are the base factors sort of. In this example of 24, that would mean 2 x 2(which makes 4) x 2 x 3(which makes 6). So that would be the same as 4 x 6, which is also the same as 24 or 3 x 8 or 12 x 2 and so on. 12, 8, 3, 4, 6, 2, 24, and 1 are all factors of 24.
