The conversion of different units of measures used on a map
You can look at the top of the page on any map, it will show a graph indicating the ratio of inches to miles and/or km.Look for a graph resembling a ruler. It will give you the ratio of inches to miles/km. It is usually located in a small "box" (called the legend) in a corner of the map.
The trend of a graph is the slope of any line on the graph that indicated a positive or growth factor and/or a negative or decaying factor. If the slope goes negative, the graph's line will go down thus indicating decay. If the slope becomes positive, the graph's line will go up thus indicating growth.
The difference between a graph and a diagram is as follows: a diagram is a chart which shows a drawing and a graph is a graph with lines or bars indicating something specific in numbers.
