Technically, .3333333333 ever going is 1/3. So, .666666666666 ever going is 2/3.

So, at this point it would be .9999999999999 going on forever would be 3/3 which is equivalent to 1!

YOU'RE WELCOME!!!!!!!

I don't care if you use this at Camp Inquire, because that's what I used it for. :-)

Answer 2.

If x = 0.99999 (recurring)

then

10x = 9.99999 (recurring)

9x = 10x - x

Therefore

9x = 9.99999 (recurring) - 0.99999 (recurring)

9x = 9

x = 1

Therefore 0.99999 (recurring) = 1.

Substittion for 3x equals y-5 and 2y equals 6x plus 10?

From first equation y = 3x + 5. Substitute this in second equation 2(3x + 5) = 6x + 10 This proves that 6x + 10 = 6x + 10 which is not helpful! I suppose possible solutions would be x = 0, y = 5 or x = 1, y = 8 etc etc Are you sure of your two equations, please?

What is the radius equation inside the circle x squared plus y squared -8x plus 4y equals 30 that meets the tangent line y equals x plus 4 on the Cartesian plane showing work?

Circle equation: x^2 +y^2 -8x +4y = 30 Tangent line equation: y = x+4 Centre of circle: (4, -2) Slope of radius: -1 Radius equation: y--2 = -1(x-4) => y = -x+2 Note that this proves that tangent of a circle is always at right angles to its radius

Do all algebraic expressions have to have variables for example would 3 plus 4 equals 9 be an expression or would it need to be n plus 4 equals 9 to be an expression?

3 + 4 = 9 is not an expression, it is an equation (which happens to be false). An equation without a variable is simply a statement which is either true (a tautology) or false. It's main use is probably at the end of a proof where you may show that the left hand side of some equation is numerically the same as the right hand side which proves your proposition. n + 4 = 9 is also not an expression, but an equation. An equation with a variable can divide the domain into distinct partitions such that the equation is true if the value of the variable is within those partitions and not if they are outside. This may enable you to derive further information about he variable(s).

What is 30 percent percent of 473?

Multiply 473*.30 which equals 142.9. Or multiply 473*.70 which equals 331.1 then subtract the product from original number. So 473 minus 331.1 equals 142.9 which proves the first method.

Is 8.0 greater than 0.8?

Yes. 8.0 is greater than 0.80 Because, since 8 (from the 8.0) is before the lower decimal point, than it proves that the '8' is a whole number. But, since the 8 (from the 0.8) is after the decimal point, than it much smaller.

Where is carpoint.com.au operated from?

The .au ending indicates that it is based in Australia, and its website also proves that. Since it has more than 200 staff members nation wide, there is no single spot it operates from.

How can you prove in at least two ways that the straight line of y equals 2x plus 5 over 4 is a tangent to the curve of y square equals 10x?

Combine the two equations together to give a quadratic equation in the form of:- 4x2 - 5x + 25/16 = 0 The solution to this is x = 5/8 or x = 5/8 meaning that it has equal roots therefore the line is tangent to the curve. The discriminant of b2 - 4ac = 0 also proves that the quadratic equation has two equal roots which makes the line tangent to the curve. Further proof can be found by plotting the straight line and curve graphically.

What is a counterexample to show that the repeating decimals are closed under subtraction false?

In fact, the statement is true. Consequently, there is not a proper counterexample. The fallacy is in asserting that a terminating decimal is not a repeating decimal. First, there is the trivial argument that any terminating decimal can be written with a repeating string of trailing zeros. But, Cantor or Dedekind (I can't remember which) proved that any terminating decimal can also be expressed as a repeating decimal. For example, 2.35 can be written as 2.3499... Or 150,000 as 149,999.99... Thus, a terminating decimal becomes a recurring decimal. As a consequence, all real numbers can be expressed as infinite decimals. And that proves closure under addition.
