That's the tricky part, right there - being able to see the relationship between FOURTHs and TWELFTHs. So 7/12ths plus 3/12ths is 10/12ths, right? Which is the same as 5/6ths. The first answerer didn't tell you HOW he got the answer, so you were no better off in case it came up again.
