5/6 is the same as 10/12 so it is bigger
12 and 5/6ths converts to 12 and 10/12ths. So 12 and 10/12ths - 7 and 5/12ths = 5 and 5/12ths
No, seven fourths 7/4 is much bigger than seven sixths 7/6. 21/12ths vs 14/12ths
7 12ths of 36 is 21.
2 & 7/12ths
The answer is 7/8 minus 5/6 = 1/24
You could try 7 = 84/12
You have to change the 2/3 to 12ths so that you can compare the two numbers. Multiply 2/3 by 4 = 8/12 You can now see that 8/12 is bigger than 7/12
7/8, 5/6, 2/3
13 - 5 5/6 = 7 1/6 (seven and one sixth)
11/12ths is larger than 7/8ths.
5 0ver 6 I always hated these questions in Algebra. But they're pretty simple, if you can make the two parts more equal. Since Twelfths and Fourths are different, you have to get them to be the same. It's easier to convert 4ths to 12ths, since Four Goes Into 12 Three times - so ONE FOURTH is the same as THREE TWELFTHS, right? That's the tricky part, right there - being able to see the relationship between FOURTHs and TWELFTHs. So 7/12ths plus 3/12ths is 10/12ths, right? Which is the same as 5/6ths. The first answerer didn't tell you HOW he got the answer, so you were no better off in case it came up again.
7/12
