I can't factor this, so the quadratic equation will be used.

X = - b (+/-) sqrt(b2 - 4ac)/2a

a = 1

b = 13

c = - 40

X = - 13 (+/-) sqrt[(132 - 4(1)(- 40)]/2(1)

X = - 13 (+/-) sqrt(169 + 160)/2

X = [- 13 (+/-) sqrt(329)]/2
