Area for any triangle is 1/2 base x height.

If you don't know the height (must be perpendicular to the base) then there are trig formulas depending on what is known.

Heron's formula is based on knowing the 3 sides (works for any triangle).

Step 1 find the semiperimeter, s. s = (a+b+c)/2

Step 2 find the area. A = sq root [s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)]

If you only know 2 sides and an angle there are other formulas as well.
