The constant is the thing you keep the same because that is what yo are checking, this can be both good and/or bad. The variables are the things that are being measured withinthe experiment. Hope this helped and good luck getting a good grade on whateverit is you needed this for!

Why is it important to have a constant in an experiment?

In order for the results to be valid, the dependent variable can only be affected by the independent variable, so somethings need to be kept CONSTANT. The things that need to be kept constant are called CONTROLLED VARIABLES. Even if controlled variables are affecting the dependent variable(s), which they usually do, keeping them constant will ensure that all trials of an investigation were equally impacted by the controlled variables, therefore allowing one to see the impact of an independent variable on the dependent variable. All in all, a 'constant' in a science experiment should actually be called a 'controlled variable' and the description of such a variable is described in the third point. Hope this clarifies.

What happens when you change the variables?

If you change the variables in a science experiment, you will probably get different results.

Can a variable be a constant?

In algebra variables express a relationship within an equation and these are often used to give meaningful expressions to represent practical situations. These relationships often require a constant to be included in order to balance the equation turning the relationship from one of proportionality to one of equality. The variables themselves are only constant for a given set of conditions. i.e The voltage across a resistance of 60 ohms carrying a current of 4 amps will be 240v. (V= current x resistance). A separate constant is not needed in this case as the resistance is defined by the other two properties. In science one example of a constant that is thought to be variable is the speed of light, which for all practical purposes is considered to be constant but is thought to have changed gradually with time. I don't know what possible ways there are of verifying this.

What are some examples of constant variables in science?

A constant variable is a variable that gets changed by a physical substance

How do you use constant in a science sentence?

To use constant in a science question, first know that constant in science means a variable that does not change in an experiment. Variables are the different factors that can change in an experiment. For example, a sentence that includes the science word of constant could be: For this experiment, the constant would be... and then you write the constant.

What are the four variables in a science experiment?

The control, the constant, the independent variable, and the dependent variable.

What does the word constant mean in science laws?

In science, a constant is a measurement, usually in an experiment, that never changes. It is used to compare and/or contrast the values of other variables in the same situation.

What are constants and variables in science?

In science constants are the things which never change. The speed of light is a constant, so is the mass of an electron. Variables are quantities which can change. The temperature of the oceans, the economy of the country for example.

What goes with the control in a science experiment?

A variable, you can have many variables but you also have 1 constant without a constant you don't know if any thing has changed.

What controlled variables in science?

The number of dependent variables in an experiment varies, but there is often more than one. experiments also have controlled variables are quantities that a scientist wants to remain constant, and he must be observe them as carefully as the dependent variables.

What is the difference between Information Science and Communication Science?

Information Science focuses on the collection, organization, and retrieval of information, while Communication Science focuses on the study of human communication processes, including verbal and nonverbal communication. Information Science deals more with data management and technology, whereas Communication Science covers a broader range of topics related to communication theory and practice.
