The function y = 2/17x has a slope = -2/17x2 so that for each value of x (other than zero) it has a different slope.
Near x = zero its slope approaches + or - infinity, while for large x it approaches zero.
1/2
y = 6/5x Slope: 6/5 or 1.2
If the slope is 2/3 and the coordinate is (2, -1) then the straight line equation is 3y=2x-7
Slope equals rise over run.
If: y = 5/4x+5 then the slope is 5/4 which is the same as 1.25 and the y intercept is 5
slope is 1/2

The slope of a straight line can't be measured in units. If it is a horizontal line then there is no slope because the rise over run is 0/x, which equals zero because zero divided by everything is zero. If the line is vertical then the slope is undefined because the rise over run is x/o.
it equals 1
The slope is rise over run. If another line was parallel, the slope would be the same.
If they are perpendicular, the product of their slopes should be -1 -1*X = -1 X = 1 The other line has slope 1
the slope of the line is -2 over 1 or -2 because the equation is in slope intercept form. Where y=mx+b. M is refered to as the slope and b is the y intercept.
