The clock is broken. If the big hand is on the six (half past the hour) the small hand would be between two numbers.
It is 10 minutes past 5 or 05:10
3:10 (ten minutes past three - am). 15:10 (fifteen ten hundred hours - pm).
The big hand or longer hand points to the minutes. The small hand or shorter hand points to the hour. The constantly moving hand (ticker) moves according to the seconds.
24 times because each time a new hour comes it overlaps the big hand and there is 24 hours in each day. Hey did you know I am only in grade 5 !----------------------------------------------Improved: NO! that is so not true because the big hand and small hand don't only overlap at hourly intervals ... let's say it's exactly 3:15 ... the big hand and small hand will be on the 15.I'm not exactly sure about the math that goes into this..but that's the concept behind the question.________________________Edit: The first contributor obviously didn't read the question properly ! Starting at Noon - Both hands are on 12. the next time the minute hand will pass over the hour hand - is approximately 1:05, then 2:10, 3:15.. ..10:50, 11:55, finally 00:00 - making 13 times in total !
The same as dividing big numbers by small ones. For example 20/10 = 2 and 10/20 = 0.5

ten hands is pretty small. it is about a metre tall, as a hand is equal to 10 cm. I am not guaranteeing this is correct, but I think if you are small you should be able to ride them, just not big tall adults, although ponies are quite strong.

50 is 10 minutes before the hour while 30 is the 6th hour. Thus it represents 10 minutes to 6, or 5:50 (am or pm). However, the hour hand cannot be on the 6th hour if the minute hand is on the 50th minute. The hour hand would have to be exactly 5/6ths of the distance between the 5th and 6th hour at 5:50. If it were on the 6th hour at 5:50, by the the time the minute hand reached the hour, the hour hand will have travelled a further 1/6th of the distance between 6 and 7. So the correct answer is that it's time to get a new clock. The hands are out of alignment.
ten people is not small but not big
