Do you mean ???

5/6 = n/(5 + 1/2)

multiply through by ( 5 + 1/2 )

5/6(5 + 1/2) = n

25/6 + 5/12 = n

55/12 = n

==============check in original equation

5/6 = (55/12)/(11/2)

5/6 = 110/132

5/6 = 5/6

===========checks ( a lot of that fraction work I did in my head and when you get to college algebra you will be doing the same. Go over this well and you will see that it is correct )
