Best Answer

6(X-2)-4X=16

before you can solve for x you first have to bring the x terms together

and to do that you distribute the 6 to remove the parenthesis

6x-(6)2-4x=16 turns into

6x-12-4x=16

because -4x and 6x are terms of the same degree they can be added together

youll get

2x-12=16

now solve for x

2x-12=16 get x term alone by addind 12

2x=28 now divide 2

x=14
