The Allies were on the opposing side of the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan.)
Detonating the opposing side in a war or battle.
The simple answer is that they did not win the war for either side, nor establish an actual moral superiority between the opposing sides.
No man's land was called that because it was the area between two opposing trenches in World War I where neither side had control. It was considered too dangerous for either side to occupy, hence the term "no man's land."
Please note the word Axis is specific to World War 2. ------------ Germany's allies in World War 1 were: * Austria-Hungary * The Ottoman Empire * Bulgaria
Because the narrator and the reader are on the opposing side. If the Martians had been on our side then they would have been good. It is the same in any competitive event. Your side is always the good side.
The side opposing the French was Great Britain.
