As I understand it, the number of factor pairs is equal to the number of rectangles.
One rectangle per factor pair, six total.
It works by multiplying and diving for example: a factor of 10 would be 1,2,5 and the number itself 10
The factor pairs of 32 are (32,1)(16,2)(8,4) For them to be common, they would have to be compared to another set of factor pairs.
algebra
If p is any prime number, then p12 would meet the requirements. The seven factor pairs would be: (p0, p12) (p1, p11) (p2, p10) (p3, p9) (p4, p8) (p5, p7) (p6, p6) It can be shown that, because 7 is a prime, a composite number cannot generate such a solution.
To determine the cost of each pair of socks, you would need to know the total price paid for the socks and the number of pairs purchased. Simply divide the total price by the number of pairs. For example, if you spent $20 on 4 pairs of socks, each pair would cost $5.
One factor pair of square numbers would be the same number twice. When you list them, you only write it once.
Factor pairs reverse once you have gone through the number that is half the number it started with. For instance, 12 divided by to is 6, so once you reach 6 in you factor pairs, the numbers will reverse. With an odd number such as 7, the center point would be 3 and 4. Even though these numbers aren't like 12, where it is 6 and 6, this is 7 divided by 2 without decimals, instead a lower half and upper half. At that point, the factor pairs reverse.
To determine how many pairs can be made from 18 earrings, you would divide the total number of earrings by 2. Thus, there are 18 / 2 = 9 pairs of earrings.
To answer that accurately, we will need to know the pairs of units.
