It really doesn't matter whichever one you are more comfortable with.
fractions are a bit more challenging to convert.

Decimals and percentages are easier to compare than fractions - particularly if they are unlike fractions. That does not explain why percentages are required when we have decimal number and there is no good answer to that!
If the calculator has special keys for calculations with fractions, entering a fraction and pressing the fraction key again normally works - but in any case, you can check the manual for your specific calculator. Something that should work in any calculator is to simply divide the numerator by the denominator. Example: What is the decimal equivalent of 2/3? Just divide 2 by 3, and you should get an answer similar to 0.6666666667.
There is absolutely no REQUIREMENT to do so. It is simply that many people prefer to work with whole numbers.
well this is a great topic but i also need help but what u should do is look it up online ill re-post if i find a good answer

Reduce it, if possible.

Convert the fractions into equivalent fractions with the same denominator. In actually adding mixed numbers, it is easier to convert the mixed numbers into improper (top heavy) fractions, do the addition, simplify the resulting fraction and convert any resulting improper fraction back into a mixed number.
you should use addition in a problem involving fractions if you see key words that mean to add, for example sum increase, altogether, etc

0.083 has three decimals, so that would be thousandths - 83/1000. You should check whether you can simplify such a fraction. In this case you can't.
I suggest you convert the fractions to a common denominator; that should make it easy to compare them.
#1:you convert a whole number to a fraction. for example: 2=2\1 #2: keep other fraction : 3\4 #3: you should know the rest
