Suppose one angle is x and the other angle is 14x. Supplementary angles add to 180o, so

x+14x = 180

15x = 180

x = 180/15

x = 12.

The required angle is 12o.

Check: The second angle will be 14*12 = 168. 168+12 = 180, so the large angle is the supplement of the small one.

What is the measure of an angle that is nine times its supplement?

The supplement of an angle x is equal to 180 - x. The measure of an angle that is nine times its supplement can be written as: x = 9(180 - x) You can then solve for the measure of the angle x: x = 1620 - 9x 10x = 1620 x = 162 Therefore, that angle which is nine times its supplement is itself 162 degrees.

What is the angle and its supplement if the measure of an angle is 3 times its supplement?

Suppose the angle is x. Then its suplement is x/3. So x + x/3 = 180 degrees. ie 4x/3 = 180 or x = 180*3/4 = 135 degrees and its supplement is 135/3 = 45 deg. So the angle and its supplement are 135 and 45 degrees respectively.
