Best Answer

A solid understanding of mathematical principles is needed for drug dosage.

Nurses study chemistry, Biology and biochemistry, so they have to be able understand things like rates of chemical reactions. Behavioural science involves statistics. All of these things need mathematics to at least the level of algebra.

What math classes are needed for a nursing degree?

It depends on whether you are in a two year or four year college or university. Typically, community colleges require no math other than pharmacology. Four year institutions may require a college algebra, and a statistics course. Pharmacology may be taught as either a stand alone math course, or included within the professional phase nursing courses.
