3.142 are only the first three digits of Pi. It is an irrational number and goes on infinitely.
It is one of the fundamentals of the universe in which we live. There does not seem to be a 'why' for such things.

314 feet²Area of a circle = pi x radius²let pi = 3.14A = 3.14 x 10²A = 3.14 x 100A = 314 feet²
If you mean 3.14 for pi then the circumference is: 7*3.14 = 21.98 cm
A= pi r squared 3.14 * 10 *10 = 314 square feet.
Tells you the answer is 2*sqrt(314*pi) inches, which is approximately 62.82 inches Seriously though. Use metric units in maths it makes everything just work!

Diameter = 314/pi feet
3142 is not divisible by 4, therefore 3142 will not be a leap year.
Larry Shaw made pi day on 3, 14, 1989.
100*pi≈314 feet
314 feet²Area of a circle = pi x radius²let pi = 3.14A = 3.14 x 10²A = 3.14 x 100A = 314 feet²
Circumference = 2 pi r = 62.8 so r = 31.4/pi = 10 Area = pi r2 = 100 pi = 314 in2
If you mean 3.14 for pi then the circumference is: 7*3.14 = 21.98 cm
pi is an irrational number and so has an infinitely long, non-recurring decimal representation. So given any fraction, it is possible to get a nearer fraction by adding another decimal digit.For example, consider the sequence: 3 = 3/1 3.1 = 31/10 3.14 = 314/100 3.142 = 3142/1000 3.1416 = 31416/10000 Each fraction is closer than the one above but this sequence never ends.
Divide 314 by pi and square root the answer which will give you the radius.
It is: the square root of (314/pi) = 9.997 units to 3 dp
A= pi r squared 3.14 * 10 *10 = 314 square feet.
