8x - 7y = 7 (A)7x + 8y = 8 (B)

7*(A): 56x - 49y = 49

8*(B): 56x + 64y = 64

8*(B)-7*(A): (64+49)*y = 64-49

=> 113y = 15

=> y = 15/113

7y plus 8x plus 4 equals 20 plus 8x?

7y+ 8x + 4= 20 + 8x- 8x - 8x7y + 4 = 20- 4 - 47y=16/7 /7y= 2.28the /7 means divide by 7 :)

Is 8x7y 1 and -40x 35y1 parallel?

Being that there is no equal sign in either of these, you cannot tell. It is hard to figure out what is equal to what. If the equal sign is in the right spot on each of these, they would be. 8x + 7y = 1 -40x = 35y + 1
