u find the area of a parallelogram by multiplying the base times the height. u can't do it if there is no height. the height of the paralellogram is the line from the highest point of the parallelogram to the lowest point. then, u put the unit of measurement at the end of ur answer and a small 2 next to that to get the correct label if ur doing homework or a test.

Multiply the height by the width

Can you calculate the area of a parallelogram when lengths of its four sides are given?

No. The information is not sufficient to determione the area. You can "squash" the parrallelogram and so reduce its area at will.

The Area of a parallelogram is Area=base times height.

How do you calculate area in meters?

Calculation of an area depends on what type of area you are trying to measure. The formula for a square (s2) is different for that of a rectangle (lw), which is different from that of parallelogram (bh). See the list of related articles for how to calculate various areas.

How do you calculate the height of a parallelogram?

That depends upon what you know about the parallelogram. If you know the area and base length, then: area of parallelogram = base X height height =area / base If you know the lengths of the two pairs of parallel sides and the angles, then trigonometry can be used. If the height is required between one pair of sides, then: height = other_side_length / sine(angle_between_sides)

How is the formula for the parallelogram related to the area formula of the rectangle?

The area formula for the parallelogram is related to the area formula for a rectangle because you can make the parallelogram into a rectangle to find the area.
