Let the two numbers be 'm' & 'n'

Sum = m + n = -9

Product is mn = -90

Hence

m = -90/n

Substitute

-90/n + n = -9

Multiply through by 'n'

-90 + n^2 = - 9n

n^2 + 9n - 90 = 0

It is now in quadratic form ; factor

(n + 15)(n - 6) = 0

n = -15 & n = 6
