To create a triangle, the sum of the two shorter sides must be greater than the third side.

If the side of length 14 is the longest side then the missing side must be greater than 14 - 10 = 4

If the missing side is the longest side then the missing side must be less than 10 + 14 = 24

Thus any length that is greater than 4 and less than 24.

Examples include: 16, 5, 8, 10.

HOW DO YOu classify triangles based on the side lengths?

Triangles are not classified by the length of their sides, but by their shapes. A right triangle, for example, is a triangle which includes one 90o angle. This is true regardless of the size of the triangle; it could have sides a thousand miles long or a thousandth of an inch long and still be a right triangle, as long as it has that 90o angle. An equilateral triangle has three sides which are all of the same length. This is true, again, regardless of the size of the triangle. The three sides could all be a million miles long, or they could be microscopic, but if they are all the same length, then the triangle is equilateral. It would be better to ask about classifying triangles by the relative lengths of their sides. If all the sides are different lengths, we class it as a Scalene Triangle. (Note that all three angles also are different.)If exactly two sides have the same length we call it an Isosceles triangle (Note that two of the angles also are the same size. And try to get the spelling right!!!)If all three sides are the same length, we call it an Equilateral triangle. (If you like you could say that it is a special case of an isosceles triangle). All three angle are the same and they always are sixty degrees each.

Does 5cm 5cm 5cm make a triangle?

5cm, 5cm, and 5cm could represent the lengths of the sides of an equilateral triangle, or might indicate the length, width, and height of a cube.

Can three sides of 25m 15m and 5m form a triangle?

Triangle inequality says that the sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the length of the third side.Since 15 + 5 = 20 < 25, we cannot draw a triangle.

If the lengths of the two sides of a right triangle on either side of the 90 degree angle are 150 inches and 200 inches what is the length of the remaining side the hypotenuse?

If the lengths of the two sides of a right triangle on either side of the 90 degree angle are 150 inches and 200 inches, the length of the hypotenuse is: 250 inches.

How do you work out the perimeter for a triangle?

-- Make sure you have the lengths of all three sides -- Add up the lengths of all three sides to get the perimeter of the triangle.
