A vertex is a point where two line segments or rays meet. For example: a triangle could have 3 possible vertexes, but many more points. The points are not only where two lines meet, but any where on that line, ray, or shape.

What is the difference between vertex and vertices?

vertices are the corners of something fo example a square has 4 vertices and a vertex is the point of intersection of lines or the point opposite the base of a figure

What point on a cone is a vertex?

Because in math the definition for vertex is !the point of a geometric figure that is opposite the base. So in this case, the point is the vertex.

What is the vertex of an angle?

the vertex of the angle is the point

how to find the vertex angle?

The vertex angle is connected to the vertex point

Why does a cone have 1 vertex?

A cone only has 1 vertex because it only has one point where it connects. (vertex=a point)

What is the vertex of a point?

The concept of a vertex, which is the intersecting point between two or more geometrical shapes, is meaningless in this case. A point can't have a vertex since it has no shape. A vertex, however can be a point. For example, if one 2-D line intersects another 2-D line, that point of intersection is the vertex.

What is the extreme point called on a parabola?

The vertex, or maximum, or minimum.

What is the point where two sides intersect?

Vertex

What is point in geometry?

A point is a vertex

Three or more edges meet at a point called a?

vertex

How do you know if the vertex is maxinum or mininum?

If the arrows of the graph point down, then the vertex is a maximum because it is the greatest point on the graph. If the arrows point up, then the vertex is the minimum because it is the lowest point.

What is the difference between an apex and a vertex?

Well, at least in Polyhedrons, a Vertex is the point at the tip of a pyramid, apex is at the end of the cone.An apex is the top of a pyramid or cone. Technically, the apex is a vertex due to its vertex-like corner. Prisms DO NOT have apexes. They only have vertexes because they do not rise up like a pyramid.----------------------------------------------------------------An apex is usually pointed end of an object; the tip; a point of culmination.A vertex is usually the highest point or in mathematics , the point at which the sides of an angle intersect; the point on a triangle or pyramid opposite to and farthest away from its base. Some apexes may also be vertices.
